Image Tools

How do I crop an image with a specific aspect ratio?

To crop with a specific aspect ratio:

  • Upload your image to the Crop tool
  • Select a preset ratio (1:1, 4:3, 16:9, etc.) from the aspect ratio buttons
  • Or choose "Free" to crop without ratio constraints
  • Drag the corners or edges to adjust your selection
  • Click "Apply Crop" when satisfied

What's the maximum image size I can process?

Since all processing happens in your browser, the maximum size depends on your device's memory and capabilities. Generally, you can process images up to 50-100 MB without issues on modern devices. For very large images, we recommend using our compression tool first.

How does image compression work?

Our compression tool reduces file size by adjusting the image quality. You can choose a quality percentage (1-100%):

  • High quality (80-100%): Minimal size reduction, best quality
  • Medium quality (50-79%): Good balance of size and quality
  • Low quality (1-49%): Maximum compression, lower quality

Compressed images are saved as JPG format for optimal compression.

Can I convert images to WEBP format?

Yes, you can convert images to WEBP format using our Convert or Format Convert tools. However, WEBP support depends on your browser. Modern browsers like Chrome, Firefox, and Edge support WEBP output. If your browser doesn't support it, the image will be saved as PNG instead.

How do I reduce an image to a specific file size (e.g., 500 KB)?

Use our "Reduce File Size" tool:

  • Upload your image
  • Enter your target size in KB (e.g., 500 for 500 KB)
  • Click "Reduce Size"
  • Our tool will automatically find the optimal quality setting to match your target size
  • Download the result

The tool uses a binary search algorithm to find the perfect balance between quality and file size.

Can I rotate an image by a custom angle?

Yes! Our Rotate tool offers two options:

  • Quick rotation: Click buttons for 90°, 180°, or 270° rotation
  • Custom angle: Use the slider to rotate by any angle from 0° to 360°

The canvas automatically adjusts to fit the rotated image without cropping.

PDF Tools

How accurate is the PDF to Word conversion?

Our PDF to Word converter uses advanced algorithms to achieve high accuracy:

  • ✓ Detects and preserves tables and columns
  • ✓ Maintains text positions and formatting
  • ✓ Supports RTL languages (Arabic, Hebrew, Persian, Urdu)
  • ✓ Handles CJK languages (Chinese, Japanese, Korean)
  • ✓ Extracts embedded images
  • ✓ Preserves font sizes and styles

For best results, use PDFs with selectable text rather than scanned documents.

Can I extract text from scanned PDFs?

Our PDF to Text tool works best with PDFs containing selectable text. For scanned PDFs (images of text), the tool may not extract text accurately. Scanned PDFs require OCR (Optical Character Recognition) technology, which is not currently supported. We recommend using dedicated OCR software for scanned documents.

How do I convert multiple images to a single PDF?

Currently, our Image to PDF tool converts one image at a time. To create a multi-page PDF:

  • Convert each image to PDF separately
  • Use a PDF merger tool (available online) to combine them

We're working on adding batch conversion features in future updates.

What quality are the extracted PDF images?

Our PDF to Image tool extracts pages at 2x scale (200% zoom) for high-quality output. Each page is saved as a PNG file, which provides lossless compression and excellent quality. The extracted images maintain the original PDF's resolution and clarity.

Does the PDF to Word converter preserve formatting?

Yes, our converter preserves most formatting elements:

  • Text positioning and alignment
  • Font sizes and styles
  • Tables with borders and cell structure
  • Images and their positions
  • Text direction (RTL/LTR)
  • Line spacing and paragraph breaks

Complex layouts may require minor adjustments after conversion.

Privacy & Security

Are my files uploaded to your servers?

No, never. All image and PDF processing happens entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Your files are never uploaded to our servers or any third-party servers. This means:

  • Your files remain private on your device
  • We cannot see or access your documents
  • Processing is faster (no upload/download time)
  • You have complete control over your data

Do you store my processed images?

No. Since all processing happens in your browser, we have no way to store your files. Once you close the browser tab or refresh the page, all processed images are gone from memory. You must download your results before closing the page.

Is it safe to process sensitive documents?

Yes, it's very safe. Since processing happens locally in your browser, sensitive documents never leave your device. This makes Resizpixel ideal for processing confidential business documents, personal photos, legal papers, and other sensitive materials. However, always exercise caution and ensure you're using a secure, trusted device.

Do you use cookies?

We use minimal cookies and local storage for:

  • Theme preference: Remembering your light/dark mode choice
  • Analytics: Understanding how users interact with our site (Google Analytics)
  • Advertising: Serving relevant ads (Google AdSense)

We do not use cookies to track your file processing activities. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Can I use Resizpixel without ads?

Advertisements help us keep all tools free. However, you can use browser extensions like ad blockers if you prefer. We understand that not everyone wants to see ads, and we respect your choice. If you'd like to support us without viewing ads, consider sharing our tools with others.

Technical Questions

Which browsers are supported?

Resizpixel works on all modern browsers that support HTML5 Canvas and JavaScript:

  • Chrome/Chromium: Version 80+
  • Firefox: Version 75+
  • Safari: Version 13+
  • Edge: Version 80+
  • Opera: Version 67+

For the best experience, we recommend using the latest version of your preferred browser.

Why is my image processing slow?

Processing speed depends on several factors:

  • Image size: Larger images take longer to process
  • Device performance: Older devices may be slower
  • Browser: Some browsers are faster than others
  • Available memory: Close other tabs/apps if processing is slow

Try compressing large images first, or use a more powerful device for better performance.

Can I use Resizpixel offline?

Currently, Resizpixel requires an internet connection to load the initial page and external libraries (PDF.js, jsPDF, etc.). However, once loaded, most image processing tools work offline. PDF tools require the libraries to be loaded first. We're exploring options for offline functionality in future updates.

Why can't I save as WEBP/TIFF/GIF format?

Format support depends on your browser's capabilities:

  • WEBP: Supported by Chrome, Firefox, Edge. Not supported by Safari.
  • TIFF/GIF: Browsers don't natively support exporting to these formats

If your browser doesn't support a format, we automatically fall back to PNG. For TIFF/GIF conversion, we recommend using dedicated desktop software.

My PDF to Word conversion failed. What should I do?

If PDF to Word conversion fails, try these steps:

  • Check file size: Very large PDFs may cause memory issues. Try splitting the PDF first.
  • Update browser: Ensure you're using the latest browser version
  • Clear cache: Clear browser cache and reload the page
  • Try a different browser: Some browsers handle PDFs better than others
  • Check PDF type: Scanned PDFs (images) may not convert well without OCR

If the problem persists, please contact us with details about the issue.

Is there an API for developers?

Currently, we don't offer a public API. Resizpixel is designed as a web-based tool for end users. However, all our tools are built with open-source libraries, so developers can implement similar functionality in their own projects. Check out the libraries we use:

  • PDF.js (Mozilla)
  • jsPDF
  • JSZip
  • HTML5 Canvas API

We may consider offering an API in the future based on user demand.
